Introduction: What is Manga in Korea? Manga is a popular form of Japanese comic books and graphic novels. In Korea, manga is often called manhwa. The word "manga" comes from the Japanese word "mangaka", which means "comic book artist". Manga has been popular in Korea since the 1980s and it is one of the most influential forms of entertainment in the country. It is especially popular among teenagers and young adults who have grown up with it.
